How to set a vacation away
message.
Introduction
There may come a time when you decide to take a well
deserved vacation. In order to let your clients know that you have
in fact received their message but will not be able to respond for
a while you will need to set an away message.
Here's how...
Getting
Started
First point your browser to this page:
http://webmail.agentmaster.com/cgi-bin/qmailadmin/
You should now see the "Mail Administration" login form. Enter your
User Account, Domain Name, and Password in the corresponding boxes
in the form.
- Your User Account is the first part of your
email address in front of the "@" sign.
For example: If your email address is mike@mikescoolwebsite.com then
your User Account would be mike
- Your Domain Name is the last part of your email
address after the "@" sign.
For example: If your email address is mike@mikescoolwebsite.com then
your Domain Name would be mikescoolwebsite.com
- Your Password is whatever password you use for
your email account. Remember that passwords are cAsE SenSiTIve.
Control
Panel
Once you are logged in you will see the "Modify User"
control panel. In this control panel you will see a number of options
that will effect your email account. For this tutorial we are only
concerned with the "vacation" option.
- Click the radio button next to
the "vacation" option.
- Enter a "vacation subject". This
will appear in the subject line of all emails sent automatically
sent out by the system.
- Next enter your "vacation message".
- Finally click the "modify user" button at the bottom of the form
to save your changes.
- That's it! From this point on any email sent tou your account
will get an auto reply message of your away status. All email will
be saved for you to read when you get back from vacation.
- Important: When you get back from vacation you
will need to turn off the "vacation message".
- Login to the control panel as described above
and click the radio button next to "standard"
- then click the "modify
user" button at the bottom of the form to save your
changes.
- Now your "vacation message" is off.
